Ninth District Opportunity - Provides support and referral services for a wide variety of programs designed to help people reach the goal of self-sufficiency and lessen the causes of poverty.  Located in Gainesville, GA they can be contacted by phone at (770) 532-3191 or fax (770) 534-0548.

Dawson County Head Start and Early Head Start - Provides comprehensive early childhood and family development services to children from low-income households.  Children who attend also receive FREE medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks provided to them.  Located at 407 Allen Street, Dawsonville, GA 30534, Phone: (706) 265-2980.
St Vincent De Paul - In addition to providing referral qualification for the Ric-Rack Food Pantry St Vincent De Paul provides financial assistance to help struggling families meet short term, immediate needs of basic living.  Assistance hot Line:  (706) 265-2106.

Court Appointed Special Advocates For Children - A network of volunteers who represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings.  Phone:  (770) 531-1964.
Good Shepherd Clinic - A non-profit center that will provide free non-emergent health and wellness services for individuals that live and or work in Dawson County without access to insurance.  Sponsored by Grace Presbyterian Church.  Phone:  (706) 216-7477.
